Join us on Sunday, April 29, 1-4 pm at the Bruce Museum in Greenwich for ‘out of this world’ family fun with activities and crafts inspired by the Space Race and the current exhibition Hot Art in a Cold War: Intersections of Art and Science in the Soviet Era. This exhibition features Space-Race artifacts including an unlaunched backup of Sputnik, a replica of the spacesuit worn by the first space dog Laika, and equipment from the Salyut space station program.
At Moon Madness Family Day, meet and talk with space enthusiasts from the Astronomical Society of Greenwich and see StarLab Planetarium programs presented by The Children’s Museum of West Hartford at 1:15, 2:00, 2:50, and 3:35 pm. Tickets for StarLab will be issued on a first come first serve basis and space is limited. The first two sessions are recommended for children ages 5 – 8 while the second two are recommended for children ages 8 – 12.
