What are you doing for the long weekend? We’re heading with friends up to their lake-front cabin in the Adirondacks. I’m such a beach girl so I’m so excited to hang in a lake house for a few days and get one with the mountains. (Especially since school is about to begin!) I wanted to bring something special, so I grabbed a few bottles of my latest favorite: Belvoir Fruit Farms Cucumber & Mint Lemonade. I found a bottle of it on the North Fork last week, and I went back to the store to buy a few more bottles since it was so good.
The product claims that it’s “gently bubbly,” and its carbonation is so light and refreshing that it’s perfect for a hot summer day. This weekend I’m going to try adding a spike of vodka or gin, perhaps a sprig of mint. Belvoir also makes flavors like Elderflower & Rose Lemonade, Ginger Beer (rather than root beer), Dragonfruit and Raspberry Lemonade; they have ideas for farm to table cocktails using their concoctions here. Scan their website for more options, too. Here’s the funny part. Although they grow the ingredients in the Belvoir Valley in England — they’ve been making drinks for thirty years! — the local offices for the company are based in Mamaroneck.
You can buy Belvoir products anywhere from Fresh Market to Fairway, although I can’t promise that they’re on the shelves when you go. (You could also order them online.)
Have a great Labor Day friends!
