Are you heading out of town for Memorial Day? If not, don’t fear. Most of the area pools open this Saturday. We’re going to the North Fork to go paddleboarding, wine tasting and buy up whatever local produce is available at farmstands. Here are three fun things to know for the weekend:
What’s On My Nightstand: Tangerine
When I love a book, I can’t stop shouting it from the rooftops. Lately, I can’t stop talking about Tangerine, a recommendation from a friend, which is the most unforgettable story. Actor George Clooney agrees, since he recently optioned the book about female friendships and obsessions; actress Scarlett Johansson will star. The best summer read ever.
What’s In My Weekender: Tie-back Tank Top from J.Crew
I’m obsessed with this simple sleeveless tee that ties in the back. I ordered it online from J.Crew, but I fell for the open back style so much that I ran to The Westchester and bought it in more colors. Love!
What I’m Making at My Memorial Day BBQ: Serious Eats Caprese Salad
My sister is in Sorrento, Italy right now, and she’s sending photos of the most delicious looking caprese salads. While tomatoes won’t reach their peak here until August, we can certainly work with sweet cherry tomatoes and cubed mozzarella and fresh basil from the garden to make an early version.
