Anyone that meets Jodi Levine, a Hastings mom and author of the Super-Make It blog and book series, is charmed. Not only is she incredibly sweet, but she’s also endlessly creative — and I’ve become a big fan of her and her blog. Her books, Candy Aisle Crafts and Paper Goods Projects, are all about crafts made from everyday supermarket materials, which isn’t a surprise since she worked in the crafting department at Martha Stewart Living for over 19 years. Ahem, yes, this life-long crafter lives in our midst. (Even as a child, she snuck paper doilies off the dinner table and hoarded tissue boxes to make crafts.)
We asked Jodi to share three of her favorite Valentine’s Day crafts with us, and she also agreed to giveaway her book Candy Aisle Crafts. If you’re interested, get in the running by leaving a comment about why you love to craft.
Easy DIY Heart Lollipops Made From Supermarket Candies
Using melted candies picked up at the supermarket — think: Jolly Ranchers — you can make this sweet Valentine in less than 30 minutes.
Watercolor Valentine’s For All Ages
Even your little ones will be able to do this one — let them paint, then you cut out the hearts. Or, your older ones can experiment with color mixing as they go.
Valentine’s Day Cookie Cottages
Jodi made these adorable little cookie houses for Martha Stewart, but they’re also on her blog. I love them!
