From 12pm to 10pm on Saturday, June 3, RiverArts, a nonprofit organization devoted to bringing musicians and artists to the Rivertowns, is hosting RiverArts Music Tour, an all-day music festival. With 80 performances happening in 25 venues throughout the Rivertowns, you might attend a drumming circle in Irvington, a live band karaoke party in Hastings, a Rivertown Kids performance in Dobbs Ferry, even a French band playing at Black Cat Cafe, also in Irvington. Milton, a singer-songwriter (shown above) with an acoustic trio is performing at the Hastings Farmers Market at 12pm.
There are actually so many interesting musical acts playing that it’s hard to choose. All events are free and open to the public; no ticketing required. Check the RiverArts Music Tour page for rain locations and the full line-up.
One last plug: RiverArts runs a Jazz Camp for kids in grades 5 through 12, if you have a budding musician in your family. Kids will be broken into jazz bands, then practice and perform the music. Sounds adorable. It runs from July 31 to August 12.
