It’s fun for little ones to explore bike paths, but some of the area’s family bike trails can be congested with speedy cyclists. We recently went to Flint Park, a large outdoor space with playgrounds, basketball courts, soccer fields and a paved bike path, since kids can pedal from the parking lot to the playground.
After playing for a bit on the tire swings and pirate ship playground, your little one can go for a leisurely ride around the park. The paved trail (also perfect for strollers) runs along marshlands (look for cranes!), and you don’t have to worry that your kids will veer off the road. There’s even a boardwalk to bike around, which adds an adventurous element to the ride.
Don’t bother bringing your own bikes. This is strictly a pee wee pedal. But next time we go, we’re bringing our running shoes. It’s the perfect spot to run alongside your kids. A girl’s gotta get in a workout, right?
