I was in Chappaqua recently and passed by Marmalade, a gift shop that is so charming from the street there was no way I could walk by. Once inside, I was amazed by the variety of items from cool summer jewelry, bathing suit cover ups and tees, to a slew of thoughtful and unique hostess gifts.
My daughters were intrigued by a door with a decal of a girl on a swing. Cindy, the owner, told us we could go upstairs and see the ballet studio. Ballet studio? Marmalade just gets better and better!
We climbed stairs, decorated with faux grass and tree decals (my girls were in love already) to find a room with colorful butterflies hanging from the ceiling. In other words, we were in heaven for my five and three-year-old and they proceeded to dance for as long as it took my mom to purchase a new summer wardrobe.
It turns out Marmalade also offers ballet classes for ages 2- 6 years. The class for 2 year-olds is a Mommy and Me class and there is ballet/tap classes for 5-6 year-olds. Find out more about Marmalade’s Ballet Classes and the fall schedule here.
As far as shopping, feast your eyes on this… the below red necklace is $28 and the blue necklace is $32.
These jewel toned bracelets would dress up a simple tee or tank and are $24 for a set.
And I can’t stop thinking about this vintage high chair for $60.
Marmalade: 29 King Street, Chappaqua; 914-238-2564
I always drive by that store when in Chappaqua. I’ll stop next time. P.S. my aunt has that same vintage high chair and we use it every time we visit her.
You’ve got to love places that combine kid activities with shopping!
