With it’s cute yellow awning and retro oven on display, you can’t help but feel warm & fuzzy upon entering the new Snackery Bakeshop in Larchmont. And that’s before you even get to the counter filled with delicious treats that will take you right back to your childhood.
Owner, Sara Leand, a former LA TV studio executive opened the Snackery Bakeshop a few weeks ago to bring her “American iconic classics with a twist” home to Larchmont. The Bakeshop specializes in baked confections, retro treats and signature custom cakes. Kids and adults will enjoy the delectable sweets like “from scratch” Red Velvet Ring Dings, homemade Moonpies, O’reos, and Twinkie Bundt cake. On display and ready to take home are some of the decadent cakes with “old school” flair whose layers can be filled with candy or sprinkles adorned with butter cream or chocolate flowers.
We popped in recently and my five-year old opted for the S’Mores Fudge Bar – a graham cracker crust, with chocolate fudge and topped with toasted vanilla marshmallows, while I eyed the Carrot Cake Twinkie and “Happy” Linzer tarts. We left with some simply tasty classic chocolate chip cookies for the rest of our crew.
There’s something for everyone at the Snakery Bakeshop – just the right kind of old-fashioned treats that warm the heart. Plus there’s a cute private room in the back for parties perfectly decorated with sprinkles on the wall.
