Do you roll your eyes at Valentine’s Day just a little? Even if I love a restaurant, a prix fixe dinner on February 14 can feel… well, cheesy. For this Valentine’s Day I’m suggesting something different – a wine bar that serves small plates or tapas. I want delicious bites of food, fabulous wine and the love of my life sitting very close. Call ahead for reservations since this is a busy night!

Don’t miss their thin crust pizza with balsamic, caramelized Asian pear, ricotta cheese and arugula drizzled with honey. 157 Mamaroneck Avenue, Mamaroneck; 914-630-7512
Crush Wine Bar is offering a special for Valentine’s Day that couldn’t get more romantic – A beautiful bottle of French Rose Apanage Champagne served with gourmet truffles for $75. There will be a selection of small plates such as seared scallops and lamb chop lollipops in addition to their regular menu. I’m dying to try their new slider with roasted pork, prosciutto and Gruyere cheese. Plus I spied some chocolate covered fresh strawberries on the menu. 1985 Palmer Avenue, Larchmont; 914-834-6600

We love Taiim Falafel Shack in Hastings, so I was excited to hear about the newly opened Taiim Cellar, in Scarsdale. Decorated with Moroccan lanterns and Turkish ottomans, this Middle Eastern wine bar serves cocktails with names like “Arabian Night Moves” and “A Good Old Fashioned Magic Carpet Ride”. For Valentine’s Day there is a spectacular dinner planned with wine pairings. Expect Truffled Hummus with Truffled Whitefish Caviar to start and for dessert there is chocolate truffles paired with The Cellar’s own Liquid Baklava — Date Infused Vodka with Amaretto di Saronno and lemon zest. Find out more here. Be still my heart! 11 Boniface Circle, Scarsdale; 914-723-6900
